I've always seen the Bahama Mama t-shirts...and so I've always wanted to go. My friend wanted to get All-You-Can-Eat crabs...so we did. It was $20 because we came before 4pm, so we got the "Early Bird Special"...I think after 4pm it was $24 bucks. They were definitely SMALL. I'm used to huge ones, but for AYCE, maybe it's expected? I mean if it's AYCE you can pick as many as you want...but sometimes it's frustrating to pick at what seems to be the smallest crabs EVER. Sometimes I got big hunks of crabmeat which made me happy, but sometimes it was frustrating! Along with All-You-Can-Eat crabs, there was All-You-Can-Eat Maryland Crab soup which I loved and corn (I didn't have any, my friend did and liked it). Before ordering AYCE crabs again, I'd probably ask to see the crabs before ordering. It seems others were satisfied with the sizes of their crabs, so just because ours were small during our visit doesn't mean they are all the time. There were other things on the menu that seemed yummy as well...lots of good appetizers. The waitress was a sweetheart. I know Ro says MD crabs are overrated, but they're not. Crabs at one place shouldn't steer you into thinking they are ALL this way. The crabs here were very tiny like another user said, and sometimes probably not even legal. MD crabs are awesome and you have to have atleast a LITTLE Old Bay on them, that's what makes them! Our waitress asked us how we wanted our crabs...we told her extra Old Bay for the first patch (my friend liked it, but it could be a tad overwhelming), when the second patch came out they weren't covered in nearly as much which I liked better. Crabs and cold beer...I was content...and I'd be back!

Very disappointed. I am local and have had crabs from here in the past and usually they are pretty good. This past visit though they were small and seemed either overcooked or pre-steamed. They also had a funny taste to them. When you're spending this kind of money on crabs they should be excellent. I will now have to find a new place to buy crabs when I'm visiting the beach.

This place is the best!! By far the best peel and eat shrimp I've ever had. The all you can eat crabs are small but I'm not a cheap ass so I paid a little extra for the bigger ones and I was taken back by how good they were...and I've eaten a lot of blue crabs from a lot of places. My personal favorite was the broiled crab cakes,,I love this place it's a O.C. Staple!!

We had a similar experience to the reviewers who were disappointed with quality and size of their crabs. We ordered Jumbo $65/dozen crabs. More than half were very light and the rest were mediums at any other crab joint. Very light on seasoning. Also ordered corn that had no sweetness had tasted like it had been boiled in dirty water. We will not be going back.

We are in ocean city for vacation. Wanted to eat somewhere close so we ordered takeout from here. The sampler was over done so bad that it was in edible. The staff was very unfriendly. I would highly recommend to avoid eating here.

Stay away from this place, it is a tourist trap. They display jumbo crabs in their display case at 7" and then sell you 5" crabs allegedly by weight with no mention of weight in their display case or weight when you place the order It is a classic bait and switch and they should be shut down for fraud, Stay away is my best recommendation. The clerk said that is why they are so successful is they sell by weight, in other words, they are successful by ripping people off with their unscrupulous practive of bait and switch,

If you like being swindled this is the place for you. This place sells Lg crabs but stuffs your bag with Med-small. Some of them were barely legal. Spiders. I've lived in Baltimore my whole life and I can't count how many dozen I have eaten over the yrs. I've seen the bait and switch done many times but this place takes the cake. Not even trying to make it look close. Flat out fraud. Buyer beware. Crabs are too expensive as is to be bent over and fleeced this way. Never be back there!

We just walked in at 8 pm on Sunday, May 25 2014. They told us they were closed. It's 8 pm on Memorial Day weekend... You're closed? I called an hour before to ask if they had crabs and they said they had mediums, large an jumbos. I asked to reserve 2 dozen jumbos, she said, hold on... She put down the phone and never came back to the phone. So we decided to go and was told they are closed. I told her I just called and asked to reserve crabs. She pretended like that never happened. This place was wonderful when it was on the water, must be under new management. We will never come back here for crabs or for anything else.

I spotted this place while we were playing mini golf across the street & I was so excited to try it. Unfortunately, I can't review the food because we never got any. We were seated by a less than enthusiastic hostess & told someone would be right with us. We never saw a waitress, were checked on, or even got drinks, so we left. Unfortunate, as the crabs did look pretty delicious.

We were in a group of eight and we got the last dozen of jumbo crabs. Some were good, some were overcooked and some were undercooked. The sizes were good. When we showed our server two objectively undercooked crabs, rather than just bringing a replacement of a different size she argued with us and said it was fine. Some of us got the all you can eat but they were a little small. Food was decent only and the service was poor. Waited forever after asking for our bill, had to ask multiple times for silverware, and at the end of the meal the server chastised us for the leftover crabs (well, they were undercooked). Server = crabby.

Okay I am one of those girls that get more excited about eating crab than tanning. Or perhaps am I the only one? My trip here was more in the way of woooo, when am I going to be able to try MD crabs and eat it with a mallet? I was super stoke for this and kept asking N...when are we going like an annoying adolescent child. N's mom hairdresser recommend this place for MD crabs. This place was bustling on a Saturday night with AYCE - All You Can Eat. I think it was like $30 bucks for AYCE but there is a 2 hour seating limit. HA! Time Limit...hilarious! N and C are pros while T and I were a bit clueless on how to work the mallet in. We didn't know you're suppose to utilize the mallet with the knife. We thought you're just suppose to bang them every chance you get. They offer you the crab soup with side of corn on the cob with the AYCE. Okay I must say the Crab Soup...ummm it was okay and the corn on the cob....PASS! It was so disgusting and I am a fan of corn but this corn tasted gross. I took one bite and put the damn thing down. N tasted it and said the same thing. T and C didn't even get to the corn. Four girls killed 3 trays of these crabs. Ha. Crazy! I stopped first because I just couldn't handle the Old Bay Seasoning anymore. I like Old Bay but I don't love it. I like Old Bay fries but I just don't care too much for it when it's drowning the flavour of the crab meat. I couldn't even tell the difference between a MD crab from any other crab I have tasted. I love seafood and I would have been happy if this place offered NON OLD BAY versions. But our waitress Traci was super duper sweet and even though she was in the weeds...she was nice enough to take a picture of all of us. *sigh* MD Crabs are overrated!

We went to Bahama Mamas for dinner and we were not disappointed. Food was better then we even expected. I had crabs and my husband had a steak and a crabcake. My crabs were incredible, crabcake was nice and delicious, not much filling and had very nice flavor. Sides were not that good, but it did not matter. Our waiteress was extra nice and provided pretty good and quick service. We will go there again!

Uptown site of the Bahama Mama Chain. We were unimpressed. Our experience was tempered by a terrible wait staff, the guy seemed stoned and was unattentive to refills and request. Every order was put in front of the wrong guest. Not happy that his tip was already included. We went with a party of 9 each had various things. I personally had the Bahama Mama Sampler, tasted Like frozen appetizers with a ketchup based tomato sauce for the mozzarella sticks. The hot wings were also blah. The fries that came with the meals were soggy. I had the BBQ ribs meat was tender but did not rate much above chain restaurants like applebees or chilis. Nothing special. Corn was good as it is in most places in Ocean City, they have a nice sweet style of corn. My wife did enjoy her steamed shrimp appetizer and said the shrimp stuffed with Crab meat was ok. My brother in law also had the stuffed shrimp although it was good it looked kinda just tossed on the plate, so no points for presentation. Seems to be a problem at many places this year for some reason but this place had a lot of flies. Maybe we hit a bad waiter on a bad night but can't say we are going back.

The 4 stars are for the all-you-can-eat crabs only. I've never had anything else at this restaurant. The 4 stars are definitely NOT for the service, however, as it was lousy. This summer they had AYCE crabs for about $20. We were impressed by the size and quality we received. Way better than Old Mill and Hoopers. The $20 is for crabs only -- no chicken, shrimp, etc. But hey, I don't want all that... I want the crabs! Sooo... if you can tolerate bad service and you want great AYCE crabs, this is the place to go.

How do you run out of all you can eat crabs? I'm not sure either but that is exactly what happened when we were there. Fortunately, we had already been eating crabs for 4 hours so we were to the end point anyway. The only reason my family & I decided to come here on a Sunday is because 'The Crab Bag' on 130th street was completely packed for the Ravens game. We wanted to watch & enjoy crabs as well so we decided to make a couple calls to a couple other crab joints nearby. I have been coming to OC all my life & never ever considered Bahama Mama's but again, our options were thin. Overall, not the worst in OC but far from the best. The Bloody Mary, although made from scratch, was nasty & bland! The crabs were overcooked on every batch they served us too. However, the service was quick & they did have plenty of TVs to watch football. I would not recommend to anyone unless you are desperate like we were.

wish i could give this place NO stars. does not even deserve one star. i'm from maryland and i have crabbed many times. ordered two dozen steamed crabs for carry out, $48 dozen for "large and Xlarge". some of these crabs were not even legal size, very tiny, at least 3 crabs were bad, and all that we ate were over steamed. over steaming the crabs makes them hard to pick. four of us ate the crabs and threw away FIVE crabs PLUS the 3 bad crabs.....we love crabs but these crabs were very disappointing. please do not waste your money.

As I walked out of this establishment, muttering to myself about an almost surreal experience I just had, I didn't know how I would start my review. What I had just experienced was absolutely absurd. Who would believe my review of this establishment? Pretty much anyone who had already been was what I realized once I went and looked at the reviews here. We had just gotten settled at our friend's beach house when we sent out to order take out for the 8 of us. The total tab was north of $150. When I placed the order, I asked the server taking our order how long it would be. The manager, an older woman with bright blonde hair looked at our order and said 20 minutes. We left to go grab some other essentials at a nearby CVS. We returned about 30 minutes later and I proceeded to wait more than 15 minutes at the takeout window in spite of asking several servers for some assistance. It's now been 45 minutes since I placed my order. When the server working the take out window returned, she told me that it would be 6 more minutes for our final dish to be prepared. 6 minutes came and went and I asked for the manager who spun some story about the printer in the kitchen being broken. That's fine, how come someone putting together the takeout order didn't notice the missing dish? Its takeout, it's not hard to do, just make sure everything on the ticket makes it into the bag. When the manager came to speak with me she was belligerent and aggressive right off the bat. When I asked where my order was since it had been more than 6 minutes since we were told our order would be done, she told me that it would be 12 more minutes for the final dish. I asked if it had been started, since we just told 6 more minutes, she flipped out and told me, "F--- off, I don't have time for your s---". To which I replied, "I am not giving you any s---, you told me this order would take 20 minutes when we placed it". She denied telling me this and said, "f--- you" and proceeded to process a credit and handed me the slip to sign, which I signed "F--- YOU". Most unbelievable experience of my life. That said, based on the reviews here, it's probably a good thing that I didn't get my food. I gave this place 1 star, but only because I can't give it 0 stars. Oh yea, go check out the reviews on tripadvisor for this place. You guys are soft for giving this place anything more than 1 star.

Nasty place to eat. The food we had was spoiled and the manager was (as the other reviews state) screaming F this and F that to the top of her lungs to us and others in the place. Scary place! The waitress said the Manager went off before and tore the place apart. Dangerous place to visit.

Awful! I telephoned a carry out order for steamed shrimp and a side of cole slaw. I arrived at the restaurant and stood waiting by the cashier for about 20 minutes as other people came in and picked up their orders. Finally the counter guy asked if he could help me. I told him my name and what I was waiting for. He checked and said they did not have that order, but would put it in for me. Finally it came, and the cole slaw side that I was charged and extra $2.50 for looked like it was as big as a table spoon. When I complained he said he could give me more. I asked him if there would be a charge for more. He said yes of course. Avoid this rip off joint!!

Excellent place for crabs, made a reservation for a party of 8 for 4pm arrive the table was setup n we where seated immediately. Had 3 dozen jumbo crabs,shrimp, clams, n oh yes beer, Everything was excellent, my advice to anyone always get the jumbo crabs, the all u can eat is for tourist, n yes the crabs where from Maryland.
